McCarren Park opened its skating rink this morning and what do you know, celebrity Williamsburger Pat Kiernan showed up for a few spins on the ice (see slideshow below).
The rink, which accommodates over 300 people, is open through January, seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and $4 for the kiddies (skate rentals are an extra $5).
And because it isn’t a parks project without some hip food in the mix, look for the mobile carts in a concession tent operated by Tyler Kord of No. 7 Sub and Josh Cohen of Anella and Jimmy’s Diner. Get excited for this, now: we’re told they’re working with Peter Pan Donut and ACME Smoked Fish for some additions to the menu below.
