As we tweeted over the weekend, The Standard East Village’s cafe — called CafĂ© Standard, natch — has opened for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night bites till 2 a.m.
Reps tell us the restaurant is still in preview mode, and the menu below, designed by acclaimed Dovetail chef John Fraser, is due to change next week. The programming (read: DJs) is also TBD. And, of course, Fraser’s larger restaurant (which will have a different menu) won’t open till the beginning of next year.
In the meantime, the cafe opens at 7 a.m. daily, doesn’t accept reservations and accommodates 40 guests indoors and 70 on the outdoor patio, which will be heated during at least part of the winter.
