You won’t have to hoof it over to Central Park, Flushing Meadows or (shudder) Rock Center to go ice skating anymore. The folks at Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn send word that they’re teaming with NYC Parks to convert the McCarren Park Pool into a skating rink with vendors selling gifts and grub.
Between this and the return of the Brooklyn Night Bazaar — this time year-round — North Brooklyn is going to become a big ol’ winter wonderland next month.
The McCarren Rink will be open daily from November 15 through January; on weekends from Thanksgiving to Christmas, there’ll be a holiday market — operated by the producers of the Northside Festival — as well as food by Tyler Kord of No. 7 Sub and Josh Cohen of Anella and Jimmy’s Diner.
