A little while ago we told you about Dimes, the new health-focused cafe and eatery on Division Street from Sabrina DeSousa and Alissa Wagner. Though it was originally slated for a mid-August opening, the spot will finally open its doors next Monday, providing some long-awaited MSG-free eats to the Lower Lower East Side.
The menu showcases the sort of quirky, inventive creations we’d expect from Chef Wagner — who cut her teeth at neighborhood favorites like The Smile, Lovely Day and Five Leaves — with a price point sure to satisfy even the $2 dumpling crowd.
In addition to the permanent menu there will be a rotating list of market selections. Currently the protein offerings include a roasted chicken and a pickled salmon, along with sides like grilled mushrooms with champagne grapes, fava beans and fried buckweat, and a green-bean salad with mustard seeds and tarragon.
Looks like the perfect spot to kick off our post-Labor Day detox.
