The windows of 7 Clinton Street have recently boasted racy red signs: “Beer is sexy,” and “Beer. Your way,” they say. Another week, another craft beer spot, you may yawn. But Paloma Rocket, in soft-opening mode, is guaranteed to make beer enthusiasts perk up with a free-for-all of 30 constantly-changing niche drafts. The best part: No bartender is getting between you and these sweet brews.
If you thought today’s pop quiz would be the last you’d hear about the Cormac McCarthiest presidential candidate of all-time, think again. Yesterday we spotted a mystery man plastering the above image over a doorframe right next to New Museum. After he climbed down from his ladder and got ready to make like a rat and copulate with Ted Cruz scamper off, we had a word with him about the latest of many, many, many, many creative attempts to bring down the Donald.
If you’ve noticed these incendiary posters hung around Brooklyn, you’ll be happy to know we found the man behind the curtain. Mark, who opted not to share his last name—“because I’ve been putting down so many blogs”—is a 25-year-old reality-TV producer with (no surprise here) a history of rejection and a big-ass chip on his shoulder.
The Renegade Craft Fair set up camp in Williamsburg’s East River State Park this weekend, alongside regulars Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea. We withstood the sweltering heat to show you a few of our favorite things, amass a collection of business cards, and to indulge in some ice cream from the Coolhaus truck (which, unfortunately, could not withstand the heat). We may have even come away with a purchase or two – because, indeed, one can always use another bloody tote.
