Lovebirds Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach will peel themselves away from each other for separate Q&As about their new movie Mistress America. You may be asking yourself, “Wait a minute? Didn’t the Squid and the Whale guy just do a Q&A for a new movie?” Well, yes, but While We’re Young was all the way back in March and he’s trying to beat Onur Tukel as Brooklyn’s most prolific filmmaker.

Peep the Lineups For Rockaway’s Outdoor Film Fests, One Curated by Greta Gerwig

Not only has Greta Gerwig unleashed a new clip from her forthcoming movie with Noah Baumbach, Mistress America (out Aug. 14), but she just unveiled the lineup of the outdoor film series she curated for The Palms in Rockaway. Among the flicks that will be screened inside of the new palm-tree oasis at Beach 96th and Rockaway Beach Boulevard are Last Days of Disco (starring kindred “it” girl Chloe Sevigny, Aug. 9), Woody Allen’s Broadway Danny Rose (Aug. 16), Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing (Aug. 30), and The Landlord (Aug. 23).

Greta Gerwig, Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke Taking Up Residence in East Village

Get ready to spot some stars — the movie Maggie’s Plan, starring Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke and Greta Gerwig, is slated to begin filming in the East Village next month.

We spotted this letter today on the door of an East 10th Street apartment building, between First Avenue and Avenue A. The filmmakers plan to shoot in the area on February 23, 24, and 25 and are seeking a first- or second-floor apartment for interiors and exteriors. So maybe some lucky local will get the surreal experience of seeing Julianne Moore sipping a glass of water in their kitchen?
