Not only is The Vintage Twin once again popping up at 355A Bowery tomorrow through Wednesday, but next month the space will get a titillating new tenant: Black Boy Place, the Parisian street-wear brand responsible for Jay-Z’s notorious “Tom Ford” football jerz, will make its NYC brick-and-mortar debut there from August 4 to 18.
Okay, we know what you’re thinking: what. is up. with that name. “Unlike what some might think,” explains the fashion house on its website, “Black Boy Place refers to the dark side of men rather than the color of their skin.”

A long and emotionally charged saga concerning what a plaque will say about the 1969 Stonewall riots outside of Greenwich Village’s Stonewall Inn may be nearing a close.
Last night a subcommittee of Community Board 2 approved revised language for the plaque, but not before further objections.

Cornel West dropped into the East Village’s Maryhouse on Friday to deliver a holy-rolling birthday tribute to Dorothy Day, the Catholic-anarchist writer who would’ve turned 116.
Decked out in his signature tux, West described Day as a “God wrestler” who was “broke as the Ten Commandments financially” but “spiritually as rich as anyone could imagine.”

Nazi imagery sure is making a comeback today: in Coney Island, some idiot(s) defaced a Jackie Robinson statue with swastikas, and look what’s happening right here in Williamsburg.
This morning, a two-man crew stood outside the Graham stop telling anyone who’d listen that President Obama is a fascist, along with Bush, J.P. Morgan and pretty much any commercial bank.
