Forget the Super Bowl and go on the hunt for a super bowl.

Brooklyn Hidden Treasures, a one-stop shop for all of your vintage furniture and knick-knack needs, is expanding to a new location in Bushwick and will be inaugurating its massive warehouse with a soft opening this Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Elliot Blitman, founder of the original store in Flatlands, Brooklyn, told us why he decided to expand with a new shop at 387 Bushwick Avenue. “Our customers used to all come from Bushwick,” Blitman explained, “but it became a hassle to get to us.” As more vintage shops started popping up in parts of Brooklyn that were more easily accessible, Blitman realized he would have to join them in a more convenient location if he wanted to stay competitive.

Blitman and his team are still busy setting up the over 2,000 items, ranging from musical instruments to furniture to obscure 1920s medical apparatuses. “Maybe we’ll do a little vintage clothing as well,” he mused.

The new location will finalize its opening times next week, once staffing is farther along. This much is certain: Sunday’s soft opening will feature some great deals. “I’m going to give a very good pricing. I want people to know about us,” he said. He added: “I put prices, but we’re negotiable.”

Brooklyn Hidden Treasures, which has been around for “10 to 12 years,” according to Blitman, also operates Reuse America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to donating furniture and other items to low-income families and individuals in need.

Right now, Blitman’s favorite vintage artefacts are midcentury modern pieces, from the 1950s and 60s. “I also love industrial,” he said.

At the moment, one of Blitman’s favorite objects in the warehouse is a futuristic 1970s stereo. “I was doing a job in the basement of a house when I found it, and it still works!” he said.

In addition to its original location at 1940 Utica Avenue, Blitman explained he also has another secret location in Brooklyn which can only be visited by appointment and usually caters to set designers and other dealers.
