A new branch of 2nd Time Around will open at 55 East Houston Street at the end of this month, making it that much easier to play out your own version of Sex and the City.
“We’ve really cornered the market on contemporary fashion and luxury accessories, which is how every girl strives to dress,” said Jill Dente, the chain’s style and marketing director. Okay, maybe not every girl. Nevertheless, the brand’s president, Kristin Kohler Burrows, feels the store (which already has locations in Kips Bay, Nolita, uptown, as well as along the East Coast and in Chicago) will be “a great addition to the retail landscape.” Indeed its stock of Chanel, Theory, Alexander Wang, Burberry, and the like is sure to lure those shopping at nearby places like INA.
During the East Houston location’s grand opening, from July 30 to August 2, there’ll be 20 percent off all store merchandise and a 50 percent consignment split (normally, those who consign receive 40 percent of the sales price of most items and 50 to 70 percent for items like designer handbags, shoes and wallets). A rack at the front of the store will show off the style editor’s “inspirational” picks.
Be warned, many items will be in high demand — Dente remembers a mini Chanel bag that sold in less than an hour and a half. Oh, and if you’ve got a grand event to attend, there will formal gowns from which to choose. Sorry, no tiaras.
2nd Time Around, 55 East Houston St., at Mott St.; open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and on Sundays from 11 am to 7 pm.
