Ibiza, Scandinavia — with all these geographically themed pop-ups, why even leave New York to go shopping? Oh, wait, yeah: this shitty weather.
No way is it going to be 70 degrees and sunny like it will be in Texas this weekend, but you can at least soak up some of that Marfa vibe at a three-day pop-up that’ll pair some of the artsy oasis’s makers and designers (and we don’t mean Prada) with some of NYC’s coolest indie brands. Not to mention, gin cocktails at the opening party, Thursday from 6pm to 9pm.
Freda, a lifestyle shop, is bringing over some of its Marfa compatriots, including furniture designer Garza Marfa, bookstore Marfa Book Co., Marfa Brand Soap, boot makers Cobra Rock and artists like Campbell “Camp” Bosworth.
In addition, there’ll be local favorites like Greenpoint indie label Mexican Summer, Bushwick fashion label Carleen, Williamsburg chocolatiers Mast Brothers, and many more, including several of The Collective’s own jewelers and designers. Click on the flyer at left for the full lineup — as you can see, the music will be courtesy of Ballroom Marfa. They teamed up with Mexican Summer at SXSW, so you know they know what’s up.
Freda Holiday Pop-Up, Dec. 11 to 13, 11am-7pm at The Collective Showroom, 3rd Fl of 495 Broadway, nr. Broome St.
