Here’s the new video from Idgy Dean, just out today. It was shot in the Brooklyn expat haven of Kingston, New York (during the super moon, no less) but rest assured Dean recorded the track mostly in her Bushwick apartment, playing all of the parts her own damn self (other parts were solo tracked at Greenpoint’s Spaceman Sound). It’s a stripped down song performed — in this video, at least — by an equally stripped down singer.

Dean (real name Lindsay Sanwald) will celebrate the video release at Brooklyn Night Bazaar this Friday along with synth act Javelin and psychedelic rockers Woodsman. Rsvp here to skip the line.

Even after you’ve watched the video, you’ll want to see Dean do “The Indian Squirrel Dance” in person, since the multitalented multitasker manages to simulate a full band by deploying a combo of looping and live guitar and drum playing. Watch her perform the single at Adrian Grenier’s home studio in Brooklyn, below. Her full album comes out early next year.
