Rapper Freddie Gibbs was the target of a shooting after he performed at Rough Trade in Williamsburg last night, the Post reports.
The rapper told the paper that around 1:13 a.m. this morning, his car was sitting at North 9th Street, near Wythe Avenue, when an unknown assailant ran up to it and fired several shots, hitting one victim in the leg and another in the hand. Both are in stable condition. Police said the shooter, who fled the scene as Gibbs ran for cover inside the store, had attended the show.
A Facebook post spotted by Brooklyn Vegan read: “someone just shot up rough trade while we were in here. WTF!!! and the guy they were gunning for ran right behind the bar into the closet right near us!”. Then: “we’re all ok… bullet holes in the front door. someone had it out for Freddy Gibb I tell ya…”
Gibbs posted an Instagram message early this morning: “Yep. Still Livin. Thanks NYC.”
