While half of Brooklyn packed into Dumbo’s Festival of Light over the weekend, the lasers were beaming over in Williamsburg as well, as the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival stormed venues such as Cameo, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Villain, Glasslands, Output, and Verboten. Among the highlights: Cut Chemist and DJ Shadow spinning vinyl from Afrika Bambaata’s personal 40,000-record-strong collection.

Cue up the festival’s Soundcloud page, above, to play some mixes from this year’s DJs and click through our slideshow, below, to see who made the scene.

If you sat this one out because you couldn’t swing the price of admission, heads up: Output, one of the festival’s venues, launched a free daytime weekly last night. Sundays in the Panther Room — one of the venue’s only gratis parties — will bring DJs like Ray Zuniga (who recently helped break in Greenpoint’s Good Room) and Rambo Springsteen (ha) to the club’s swank upper-deck room, complete with skylight and blazing fireplace. Initial lineups here.
