Three days after the iPhone 6 went on sale, there were still about 100 people lined up outside of the Apple Store in Soho when we passed by this afternoon. Of course, this is only slightly longer than the average line over at La Colombe, but still the wait was “about 8 to 10 hours,” an salesperson nonchalantly estimated. We didn’t witness anything as nuts as all this but we did see one would-be customer bail when he realized, after an hour, that fuck it, this is crazy.
If you’re wondering why all of this might be worth it, here’s some time-lapse video shot from an East Village rooftop with the new iPhone. It was posted to YouTube by one Edward Chimney. (If you’re one to hang out on rooftops, Mr. Chimney is the perfect name.)
