In its quest to be king of all media, Vice News has taken over a couple of billboards on the Bowery. What better way to get eyes on its newish news channel than with the world’s most viral folivore? (Hey, there’s a reason we put it in the headline.)

This lil guy is from Thomas “Baby Balls” Morton’s adorbs report on the fungae-rich fur of Panamanian sloths, and how it could be used to treat diseases like malaria and breast cancer. (Not the first time Vice has slummed with sloths).

If you want to hear more about Vice News’s ventures into global journalism, remember that our colleagues at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute are hosting a panel discussion, “What in the World,” with editor-in-chief Jason Mojica along with editors at Buzzfeed and Mashable. If you can’t make it to 20 Cooper Square on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m., tune in to Bedford + Bowery for the livestream.
