We were pretty sure Seth Rogen would be the biggest star around Tompkins Square Park this afternoon, but yeah — this totally trumps it.
While Rogen’s “Untitled X-mas Movie” was plunked down on the east side of the park, these portraits of Jesus, Mother Theresa, Spike Lee, Nelson Mandela, the Obamas, and Malcolm X loomed large over the west side. And yes, that’s The Donald.
The paintings are part of the “Idols” series by artist Jeffrey Reid, who sat behind a table showing off a binder full of women (and men that he had painted) to curious passersby.
Meanwhile, over on Avenue B, Sunny & Annie’s was closed — as expected — so that Jonathan Levine could film his Christmas movie starring Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Yawn!
