It’s finally here — the WiFi-equipped mini beach we told you about last month has finally been installed at Water and Whitehall Streets. We’re maxing and relaxing (okay, we’re not really relaxing but we are trying to maximize our laptop battery) in one of the eight deck chairs right now.

Aside from being a prime location for observing Scandi tourists and Wall Street types (turns out people actually use earpiece microphones!), this place is pretty chill, once you get used to the noise of tour buses rolling by and pedestrians Instagramming photos of you in all of your supine absurdity. Where else in NYC do you get to lie down on something that isn’t embedded with spikes? (Though the chairs are stored away in the evenings.) Plus, you don’t have to keep off the dunes because they are basically smaller than a Chinatown fish-guts pile. In fact, some banker bros are doing cartwheels on them right now (guys, sorry if you’re Village Voice employees and not bankers).

A very excited Balki Bartokomous type just asked, “Oh my God! Do they have hula hoops, too!”

Here’s the view from the front — now who’s bringing me a margarita?

Update: Dammit, our laptop died — looks like it’s back to the office. Though this place is equipped with a cellphone charging stand.

Plus! Peep the free shuffleboard courts across the street at One New York Plaza.
