Camper van fans and Beetle buffs, this is your moment in the sun. Next month, nearly 100 vintage VDubs will sputter onto the Governors Island ferry and line up along Colonels’ Row for the annual Volkswagen Traffic Jam.
Tops will be popped!
Last year’s show, put on by the hippie-bus hobbyists at Old VW Lovers of NY, brought nearly 100 air-cooled bugs, buggies, and buses, plus food vendors like Blue Marble Ice Cream and Souvlaki GR. The ferry is free, as is entrance to the event, and you get to judge who has the most killer Kombi.
So, yeah, we’ll be there August 24, starting at 10 a.m., with our remote-control and Lego T1.
