Miss Hoe is the perfect place to shop for a person who doesn’t need anything (flamingo-shaped lamps! owl backpacks! mushroom pillows!). But a rent hike is forcing the little box of cute overload across from the New Museum to leave the corner of Bowery and Prince at the end of the month.

“We’d like to find somewhere that’s more affordable in the neighborhood,” says owner Abby Hoe (yes, there’s a Miss Hoe). “Unfortunately the rents grow faster than the business.” In the meantime, the store and its kooky collection will be headed to a pop-up space at 11 Kenmare.

While this is sad news for Miss Hoe, it’s excellent news for the rest of us! If you’ve only ever inquisitively peeped in the window, now is the time to enter the labyrinth. There’ll be Buy One, Get One specials on clothing, jewelry, toys and accessories, sock sale specials (!), and up to 70 percent off vintage luggage, phones and more. Cutesy clothing with intriguing prints are a given, as are zoomorphic accessories and “dog house” charm necklaces.

Plus, rotary phones have been marked down to less than the price of an iPhone! (Just not the pink ones.)
