Performance artist Laurie Anderson will be in the East Village tonight at the Strand, one of her first public appearances since losing husband Lou Reed in October.

Anderson and Brooklyn author Amanda Stern, who previously collaborated on a January 2012 story in The Believer, will promote the new anthology Confidence or the Appearance of Confidence: The Best of Believer Music Interviews (McSweeney’s, $15). Purchase of the paperback or a $15 Strand gift card is required to attend the event, which takes place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m on the third floor.

Let us know if Fenway Bergamot makes an appearance.
