It’s currently below freezing but Bushwick is melting — or so says Bossa Nova Civic Club. Yes, New York’s vote for best dance club teamed up with the promotions outfit Sisterjam to release an EP series called Bushwick Is Melting.
The first volume features original, unreleased material from several Brooklyn-based producers including Aurora Halal, Marcos Cabral, DUST, and Jacques Renault and Mark Verbos. For a venue like BNCC, known to promote “yet-to-be-named” dance music, this particular mix of left-field House tracks proves not only accessible but ass-shakeable. The EP cohesively connects four experimental, vibey deep house tracks in a way to please both vinyl-collecting audiophiles and club kids.
Naturally the EP will be available on both limited 12” vinyl and — for those of us without the apartment space to accommodate record collections — digital download this Friday. You can also now reserve digital presales exclusively here. Or join BNCC for the launch party on tomorrow — it’ll be a sweaty celebration complete with techno and tropical-themed drinks. See you underneath the M tracks.
By the way, Sisterjam is now accepting submissions for Bushwick Is Melting: Vol 2. Brooklyn-based musicians can send “relevant, unreleased jams” to music@sisterjam.org.
