If readin’ bout Pete Seeger has inspired you to buy a banjo or a 12-string, you better move fast: East Village instrument purveyor A-1 Music is closing for good tonight at 7 p.m. The store’s co-owner told us a specialty candy/chocolate shop is taking over the lease on February 1.
A sign on the door at 186 First Ave. reads: “Thank you to our loyal customers for your support throughout the years. We stayed in business for the last 30 years and we couldn’t have done it without you.”
Books of sheet music are buy one, get one half-off or buy two, get one free. The same goes for reeds, picks, tuners and other accessories.
