The pups of the East Village are making room for new feline friends this weekend. Cat Castle and The Crazy Cat Family will host a Pop-Up Cat Cafe this Saturday at 526 E. 11th Street, just blocks from the dog-friendly cafe Boris & Horton and bar d.b.a.

If you’re looking to snuggle with a furry friend, the pop-up will run from 11am to 6pm. Cat Castle’s Mistletoe and Yoshi will be in attendance, and you can get a sneak-peak at other adoptables on Cat Castle and the Crazy Cat Family’s adoption pages. All of the cats will be up for adoption, and you can complete Cat Castle’s application beforehand if you want to take a kitty home on the same day.

Cat Castle and the Crazy Cat Family will provide light refreshments to create that cat cafe vibe, and will also raffle cat-lover favorites like litter genies and kitty kasas. Space is limited (so as not to overwhelm the kitties), so get your tickets ahead of time. All of the proceeds benefit Cat Castle’s cat rescue program.

Cat Castle is an NYC-based cat rescue run by cat-lovers Max and Holland. The couple founded Cat Castle just last year to rescue cats from street rescues, euthanasia lists, and friendly cat colonies. As their name suggests, their motto is “every cat deserves a castle.” For this Pop-Up, Cat Castle is partnering with its longtime friend, The Crazy Cat Family, a Queens-based foster.

Even if you’re not looking to adopt, consider stopping by the pop-up to balance out your Tompkins Square dog watching with some East Village cat cuddling.
