Although the signs advertising today’s Girls shoot promised street closures only from 6 a.m. till 10 a.m., when we stopped by at 1 p.m., Orchard Street was still one big ol’ Lena Dunham-themed party.

Allison Williams and Jemima Kirke were gal-palling around looking adorable in their personalized director’s chairs — ugh, now we really want one of those chairs — while Lena Dunham was just hanging out on her cellphone, no doubt taking a break from her hard day of work to do some work-related instagramming (i.e. this and this).

Earlier, we spotted Kirke do about ten repetitions of a scintillating five-second-long take in which she exited the Bridge Gallery and walked on to the street (no doubt after one of the scenes we outlined for you here). Kirke was seemingly pleased with her own performance. “Nailed it!” she exclaimed, double high-fiving the crew member waiting to greet her.

A zealous team of handlers precluded the possibility of any interviews and seemed annoyed at the frequent parade of teenage girls asking for photographs, but we did manage to snag some truly professional-grade paparazzi shots (y’know, if paparazzi took photos on their iPhones while looking in to direct sunlight).

Yet while the rest of the gang was in good form, we didn’t have any Shoshana sightings, leading to rampant intra-office speculation about her imminent season 3 demise. Suffocated in an adorable pillow accident, perhaps?
