Hoping to catch some NYU students on their way to and from class, the Nomad Truck has spent at least one day a week parked at the corner of West 4th Street and Broadway since the first day of school, and will continue showing up at different spots around the area in the coming weeks. If you’re close by, just hop on the gangplank and make your way inside the boxy mobile retail biz that’s packed to the brim with women’s clothing, accessories, and jewelry.
We spoke with store manager Chastity Mahoney about what Nomad has to offer. Prices hover under $100, while most of the new clothing pieces occupy the $40 range, jackets and outerwear creep up to the higher mark. Everything looks polished and vaguely “on trend”: leather jackets, acid wash jeans, marled sweaters, and necklaces with bones and power crystals are all available. Mahoney said the store sources the majority of its clothing from Los Angeles because of the number of manufacturers located there, but also because “LA is our style.”
