If that new movie about Fort Tilden didn’t have you longing for summer, this new video from The Men surely will: it involves a trip down to Robert Moses State Park and some True Detective-style dabbling in the occult. The song, “Pearly Gates,” is a hard-chugging throwback rawk tune in the spirit of “LA Woman,” and it’s off of Tomorrow’s Hits, out this week via Brooklyn label Sacred Bones (you may have seen a mural for the album — their fifth in four years — in Williamsburg).

Watch St. Lucia Perform ‘Elevate’ in Their Studio Before They Get Evicted
Though they played Governor’s Ball in June and opened two sold-out shows for Two Door Cinema Club last week, it’s been over a year since Williamsburg’s St. Lucia has headlined a hometown show of its own. But on the heels of the band’s first LP, When the Night, Bowery Presents has just announced two new gigs: one at Music Hall of Williamsburg on January 17 and the other at Bowery Ballroom the next day.
St. Lucia recently invited Bedford + Bowery into the studio on South 11th Street where their debut album was recorded, and performed an acoustic version of their single “Elevate.” Afterward, we spoke to Jean-Philip Grobler about facing eviction from the studio and maybe spending more time in Los Angeles.
This Week, So Much Power Pop
We’ve already outlined a couple of worthwhile shows in our weekend events round-up (reminder: Death by Audio. Tonight. Speedy Ortiz, Roomrunner, and California X. You won’t spend a better $8 all year), but this being New York City, there are, of course, several more shows worth attending over the next week, a few of which are highlighted below. For more complete listings, see the B+B calendar.

He still lives there, but these days he’s writing for ESPN, Nylon, and The Fader, and drumming for Caveman, which just released its self-titled sophomore album via Fat Possum.
