After months of hiding inside of a wooden box while his eponymous triangle was rebuilt, Peter Cooper has come out to smell the roses (or to smell a rat, depending who you ask). The Stanford White-designed statue, dedicated in 1897, was boxed up for its own protection last April but has now reemerged, even as the redesign of Peter Cooper Triangle continues around it. Meanwhile, over on Astor Place, construction of Alamo Plaza seems to have stalled, and it may be a while before we see the Astor Place cube again.

After dropping a sought-after collab with Mark Gonzales this spring, New York City brand UXA continues to push creativity with a new video titled “#TheChase.” Starting at the Astor Place cube, downtown’s most famous meet-up spot, the grainy black-and-white mini-movie follows pro skater Eli Reed as he slashes through lower Manhattan, trailed by some very large thugs played by Lower East Side natives Carlito Olivo and Johnny Diaz.

Magick, the Gathering: Meet the Fairies and Goddesses of Witchsfest
The celebration, inspired by London’s Witchfest International, was pretty small — just a few tents set up on one block. I actually found myself asking someone, “Where’s Witchsfest located in relation to Kmart?” But attractions such as an astrology workshop, belly dancing class, and countless tarot readers managed to draw a small coven of people.
