Cat Camp Is Back! Get Ready to Be Whisked Away

Dog lovers just got a new dog cafe (albeit a BYOD one) but what about cat people? Who’s gonna throw them a bone? Good news: The feline fair organized by the founder of the Lower East Side’s own Meow Parlour cat cafe is back for a second year.

Now named Jackson Galaxy’s Cat Camp (the cat whisperer from Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell has become a co-owner), the expanded, 15,000 sq. ft. “cat-stravaganza” will take place at Penn Pavilion, across from Penn Station, on May 5 and 6, and will feature nearly 300 adoptable cats, merch vendors, and appearances by cat experts and celebs such as Jackson Galaxy himself. Rescue groups placed 60 cats in permanemt homes as a result of last year’s fest, according to a press release.

The schedule and lineup has yet to be announced, and tickets won’t
go on sale till March, but now’s the time to scratch your calendars. If nothing else, it’s an excuse to bust out those pink pussy hats again.
