Here’s Jimmy McMillan’s Incredible Song About an ‘Outhouse Specialist’ Named HamBone

Since we last admired the musical stylings of Rent Is Too Damn High candidate Jimmy McMillan, he’s pumped out soulful tunes about having just 50 cents and empty nest syndrome — and he’s even endorsed Hillary Clinton for president (so much for that Republican phase). But the above music video, which clocks in at six and a half minutes, might just be his masterpiece.

Jimmy McMillan Wants to Eat Your Cookie

Mayoral also-ran Jimmy McMillan has always been concerned about world hunger (“not only is the rent too damn high, the food is too damn high,” he recently rapped) but the latest of the East Villager’s fantastic r&b synth jams, “Eat,” probably isn’t about that kind of hunger — even if he’s saying “let me eat your cookie” over and over again. Peep the breakdown at 2:15 — naturally Jimmy Mac likes his cookies with whipped cream.

Are Jimmy McMillan’s New Jams Kind of Amazing, or Are We Too Damn High?

Sure, de Blasio filled three top slots yesterday, but that’s not half as exciting his runner-up’s three new jams.

Jimmy McMillan snagged less than 2,000 votes and came in fifth on election day, but hey, it’s still better than Bloomberg did as a write-in. And he isn’t letting it get him down. The East Villager behind the Rent Is Too Damn High party just unleashed a trio of songs that are really kind of astonishing.

Now that Jimmy McMillan, founder of the Rent Is Too Damn High party, has achieved even more fame as a music video star, why wouldn’t he put his eviction fight to music? The East Village resident’s new tune, “Order in the Court,” is basically a primer (Jimmy McMillan style) on landlord-tenant law, and contains theories like “the judges that sit on the bench have been appointed by the landlord’s attorney who represent the landlord.” This may be the only time a scathing indictment of Article 31, Section 3120 has been put to funk music (unless George Clinton did it?).

Whelp, it’s official: the city’s Rent Guidelines Board, as expected, just approved rent hikes of 4 percent for one-year leases and 7.75 percent for two-year leases for rent-stabilized apartments, according to Fox News.

Among the usual protesters who turned up outside of the meeting at Cooper Union’s foundation building was Jimmy “The Rent Is Too Damn High” McMillan.

The mayor of Papaya King wasn’t impressed with last night’s actual-mayoral debate. “They’re talking about stop and frisk, gun control,” he told us. “I’m talking about landlord control.”

We Love You, Papaya King, But You’re Wrong About Zeppelin and the Stones

(Photo: Daniel Maurer)

No, they didn’t. (Photo: Daniel Maurer)

The Papaya King that opened in the East Village last month is all about St. Marks Place. There’s a dog named after St. Marks resident Jimmy McMillan, who scored the King’s endorsement for mayor; and a sign on the back wall tells us that Lenny Bruce once lived on St. Marks (strangely, there’s no sign giving props to Crif Dogs for being the first place on St. Marks to combine hot dogs and video games).
