Sasha Velour’s Nightgowns
Thursday, April 20 at National Sawdust, 8:30 pm doors, 10 pm show: $18 advance, $22 doors

If you live in Brooklyn and are watching this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, there’s probably a pretty good chance you’re only a degree or two of separation from some of the queens competing. One of these hometown heroes is Sasha Velour, who has continued to host the unique drag variety show Nightgowns on a regular basis. The show is typically at Bizarre Bushwick, but is making the move to dear old Williamsburg and its funky, classy music hall National Sawdust.

Given that they’re moving to a bigger, swankier space, the lineup is pretty big too. You can see shows after fabulous show from Francesca, Hystée Lauder, Kandy Muse, Olive d’Nightlife, Pearl Harbor, Severely Mame, Scarlet Envy, Untitled Queen, and Vigor Mortis. And hey, it’s 4/20, so there’ll probably be some sort of relevant performance themes going on. Keep Reading »

Somewhere, a woman brashly bursts from a large vagina. No, this isn’t the hospital, and you don’t have to worry about any mess… aside from some tissue paper and glitter, of course.

This is a peek at comedian Jen Clark’s show happening this Saturday at The PIT, appropriately titled Mein Künt. It’s a solo show that takes you on a journey through different stages of her life. It’s about growing up, it’s about queerness, but truth be told, it’s mostly about vaginas.

Watch UCB Dump on Trump Tonight

It’s going to be pretty hard to beat Taran Killam’s impression of Donald Trump (above) during the season opener of Saturday Night Live, but the intrepid improvisers at UCB are giving it a shot tonight at 8 p.m. “Trump is President and he’s giving a luxurious speech from the East Room of the White House,” goes the blurb for Trump Dump: President Luxury. “Join him and his paid audience as he updates America on the Hunt for Rosie O’Donnell, the construction of the first ever transcontinental hair oil pipeline and his plan for bronzing illegal immigrant’s babies and using them for actual ships anchors.”
