Debbie Harry and Julianne Moore Hook Up With Difficult People, Filming Now

Oh, joy! San Marzano has once again transformed into D’s Cafe, workplace/hangout of Billy Eichner in Difficult People. Our fave Hulu original is shooting on the corner of East 7th Street and First Avenue, and returns to the small screen later this year. According to Eichner’s Facebook feed, Debbie Harry, Amy Sedaris, and Julianne Moore (an alum of Billy on the Street, which got picked up for a fifth season last month) are all lined up for season deux.

Difficult People Premiere Spares Nobody, Including David Byrne

You’ll recall that Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner’tunt

show Difficult People filmed on East 11th Street in January and at San Marzano in February. Now the first two episodes are up on Hulu, and they’re just the sort of acerbic brilliance you’d expect from the guy behind Billy On the Street. Turns out, San Marzano (or D’s Cafe, as it’s called on the show) is where Billy works as a waiter while trying to hack it as an actor/comedian, with Gabourey Sidibe (aka Precious) playing his boss. Appropriately, East Village denizen Rachel Dratch of SNL makes a cameo as a customer.

Silly on the Street: Billy Eichner, Louis CK Shooting in the East Village

Looks like Louis CK might be coming back to the East Village — a sign near the corner of East 12th Street and Third Avenue indicates that his production company, Pig Newton, will be filming here next Wednesday. The new season of Louie starts April 5.

Earlier this week, the comic sent fans a self-described “very long email from Louis CK,” about his new stand-up special and his love for comedy clubs like (in the Village) the Comedy Cellar, Boston Comedy Club and the Village Gate.
