Confirmed: Max Fish and Pies ‘n’ Thighs Are Aiming for the LES

Yesterday we noticed that both Max Fish and Pies ‘n’ Thighs were slated to appear in front of Community Board 3’s liquor licensing committee next month. Today Ulli Rimkus, owner of Max Fish, confirms that she’s looking to take over the Gallery Bar space on Orchard Street and Sarah Sanneh, an owner of Pies ‘n’ Thighs, says she’s aiming to open an outpost on Canal Street.

After nearly a year of anticipation, Pies ‘n’ Thighs opens Monday on the border of Chinatown and the Lower East Side; the Manhattan outpost will serve the signature fried chicken that made it a hit in Williamsburg as well as a few special LES treats, including sourdough donuts.
