During construction, there were music arrangements pasted in the windows of Company bar’s former home on East 10th Street. But tonight there’ll be real live music to celebrate the grand opening of Pink’s 242.

Blues band JD Patch plays at 7 p.m., and bar owner Avi Burnbaum promises more live performances (everything from soul-funk to rock) down the road.

In a press release, Burn, a former manager at Gansevoort Park Rooftop who also goes by Avi Burn, says he was going for “fun and excitement,” and nothing says that like a design influenced by Kustom Kulture, or ‘50s hot rodding. A motorcycle-chain chandelier hangs from the ceiling and a large ’57 T-Bird hood is positioned on the wall.

“Kustom Kulture ties together a lot of interests that are synonymous with East Village culture and are interesting and exciting enough for the unfamiliar,” Burn explains.
The street-food-inspired grub will be served from lunch till closing. As you can see from the menu below, you can choose from house-made brisket jerky, truffle popcorn, cornbread, chicken and waffles, Buffalo shrimp over deviled eggs, and more.

East Village freelancers and barflies, take note: the bar serves lunch, has wifi and plenty of power outlets, and happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with $5 cocktails and $4 beers.
